Tearing up because someone shared a video of a baby from Yahoo with this comment: "A babys laughter is the greatest joy in life..."

I wouldn't know.

  1. Not meaning for this to sound insensitive, though it may come across like it. You don't need your own baby to enjoy a baby's laughter. I know it's hard when that laughter reminds you of what you don't have yet. Try to make it remind you of all the innocence, discovery, and awe that there is in life.

  2. Does the person who sent you the video know about your situation? I don't think the person meant to be mean, she just thought it was sweet and passed it on to everyone she knew. Sometimes people do that without knowing what effect the video or e-mail will have. If you let her know "Hey, you know, that rubbed me the wrong way, could you not send something like that again?" you may have to explain why, but then she probably won't send you stuff like that again.

  3. Lexi, it wasn't something that was sent to me, just came up in my news feed. I've now seen 2 other people I know post it, just not with that comment. It's the one of the baby laughing at ripping paper.

New Mama, you don't sound insensitive, although I appreciate you caring enough to clarify. Earlier in this process I was able to more easily enjoy it with other people's babies. At this point, though, I don't know whether I'll be allowed to try again or to adopt, which is why it's SO raw right now.
